Hello, I am Paul Allison a BA Illustration graduate from Norwich School of Art. My aim is to write and illustrate children's picture books. At art school my work was executed in watercolour but recently I have been working primarily with a computer using mainly Painter but also Photoshop. The illustrations start in the traditional way as line drawings which are then scanned in and worked up, other elements are also scanned in and digitally collaged.

In my final year at art school I wrote and illustrated a picture book story called Ollie, Why Don’t I Feel Well? I entered this work for that year’s Macmillan Prize for Children’s Picture Book Illustration and I was awarded a highly commended certificate. Two paintings from this book where also exhibited in the accompanying exhibition held in Birmingham. One of the illustrations from Ollie was also given a place in the Association of Illustrators 2004 annual ‘Images’ and exhibited in its accompanying exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London.

There are four galleries on this site containing some of my work.

My most recent illustrations are for a picture book called Goat’s Day Out, for which I have also written the story. Two of the other galleries are also for picture books:- Ollie, Why Don't I Feel Well? and Polo's Adventure. The fourth gallery is Other Work which is divided into four sub-galleries: College Work; New Work; Roughs; Portraits.

I am a member of the Association of Illustrators.
